Data Science 12 Month Placement/Internship

Job ID 304645 Egham, United Kingdom

Overview

Add an annual turnover of $26 billion to a rental and leasing fleet of over 2 million vehicles spread across 10,000 locations worldwide and you get Enterprise Rent-A-Car – a business that’s grown into the largest global mobility provider in the world.

Enterprise’s internships give you the chance to get ahead in the job market - but don’t just take our word for it; our interns have been voted Best Intern of the Year at the National Undergraduate Employability awards. From winning regular diversity awards to being a Top 50 Place for Women to Work for 14 years running, it’s no surprise that we were also voted the Graduate Employer of the Year last year.

Join our team as a Data Science Intern working in our Analytics Centre of Excellence (ACE) and you’ll have the opportunity to put your analytical skills to work on one of the largest and richest data sets available in our market; solving business problems and providing business insight that we’re certain will have the power to transform and improve our business. This is your chance to leverage the data we produce to deliver the recommendation and strategies that will enable us to grow that success even further.

Responsibilities

Central to your role will be learning and contributing, generating hypothesis and extracting actionable insights. As you can imagine, being the largest global mobility provider in the world also means that we generate an enormous amount of data. We will teach you to confidently extract, clean, and manipulate both structured and unstructured datasets, with the aim of successfully informing decisions on a weekly basis.

We will also look to develop you in time management and delivering detailed documentation, including descriptions of efforts, results, and recommendations, as well as presenting your findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

We’re keen to hear from those of you with an inquisitive mind, a desire to learn new skills and to throw yourself into a challenge. You should also be able to call on your strong academic background in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or another relevant discipline. We are also looking for the following skills:

  • Coding languages such as: SQL, SAS, R, Python.
  • Data mining and analysis
  • Working with relational databases such as Teradata

  • The first step is our application form, which takes about 30 minutes to complete. As well as telling us lots about you, it helps us identify the kind of competencies in you that we look for in our placement students.
  • If your application is successful one of our Talent Acquisition team will be in contact to arrange a competency based telephone interview.
  • Finally, you will be invited to attend one of our assessment days. Through the day, you’ll tackle a number of exercises designed around life at Enterprise. Don’t worry – it’s not too formal and most of our applicants agree it’s a great platform for you to shine.  It’s also a chance to meet some of the people you’ll be working with as well as our current interns.
